김자영
김자영의 작업의 특징적 요소인 각기 다른 비정형적 형태의 다리들은 전체 조형에서 하나로 통합되어 또 다른 형상으로 완성된다. 이러한 요소들의 합은 입체이면서 동시에 선적인 작가는 사용자로 하여금 어느 각도에서 조형감을 만들어낸다. 마주하더라도 선의 온전한 아름다움을 느낄 수 있도록 360도로 작업을 확인하며 형태를 만들어 가는데, 정면 혹은 측면 등 한 면의 질감은 물론 전체적인 형태의 아웃라인과 실루엣을 종합적으로 감안한다. 조형물들은 흙 줄을 아래에서 위로 붙여 쌓아 올리는 코일링(Coiling) 기법으로 제작되었다. 허공에 쌓아 올린 흙 줄의 우연한 조합으로 작품 형상이 만들어진 셈이다. 이러한 적층의 과정에서 흙에 묻어난 손자국들은 작품 표면에 그대로 노출되어 실내와 야외 모두에서 사용 가능하며, 작업의 요소로 작용한다. 어디서든 입체와 선의 시각적 경험과 더불어 작품과의 신체적 만남을 공유할 수 있다.
Jayoung Kim
Jayoung Kim creates sculptures with a series of unique and unconventional forms that converge to create an overall shape that is both linear and three-dimensional. Kim meticulously examines her work from all angles, ensuring the viewers can appreciate the delicate beauty of the line regardless of their vantage point. Her attention to detail considers not only the texture of each surface, but also the overall outline and silhouette of the sculpture. Using the coiling technique, Kim layers small ropelike shapes of clay to form the shape of her sculptures. The resulting form is a coincidental combination of coils that are piled up in the air, revealing the handprints on the soil created in the layering process as central elements of the work. These sculptures can be placed both indoors and outdoors, providing a tactile experience that complements the visual aspect of their threedimensionality and lines.

Jayoung Kim (1993-)
Jayoung Kim received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in ceramic arts at the College of Arts and Design at Ewha Womans University, where she is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Kim has presented solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions and biennales, including Dialog with Clay at Tendence, Germany (2017); Ceramic Convergence at Hangaram Art Museum, Seoul Arts Center, Seoul (2018); Asia Contemporary Ceramic Art Exhibition at Clayarch Gimhae Museum, Gimhae (2019); BLUE HOLE at GalleryMEME, Seoul (solo, 2020); Absence of Stimulus at wwwspace, Seoul (2020); Natural Object Part 2 at Weekly Cabinet, Seoul (2020); Cheongju Craft Biennale, Cheongju (2021); Sedimentary Emotion at Print Bakery Samcheong, Seoul (solo, 2021); Objects of the Five Senses I: Stool Stoop Stood at KCDF Window Gallery, Seoul (2021); Craft Trend Fair: Every Shape, Every Color at COEX, Seoul (2021); and The Way of Craft at Art Space 3, Seoul (2023). She received the Gold Prize at Icheon Ceramic Trend in 2017 and was shortlisted for the Cheongju International Craft Competition in 2019 and 2021.
